John, his wife, Phyllis and daughter, Margaux Des Jardins toured throughout India this past December and January.  This was a return trip for John, who lived in India some 42 years ago. John then continued on to Druk Yul....  (Now where do you suppose that is?...See The Fallser's print edition for the answer.)*......to learn all he could about this country's policy of Gross National Happiness (GNH) which pervades all aspects of social, economic, political and spiritual life.  When asked about his traveling adventures, he described India as "a deep tissue Ayurvedic massage to the brain....a sensory overload".....and he described Druk Yul as a high altitude Tantric dance between colorful Buddhist iconography, national costumes, architecture and good governance, centered on gross national happiness. 

John is seen here on his way to the Tiger's Nest Monastery, miraculously perched on the side of a sheer cliff where the only sounds are the murmurs of wind and water and the creaking of prayer wheels.



*Druk Yul translates to the Land Of The Dragon in the Dzongkha language, which is what the Bhutanese call their country, which we know as Bhutan.
