In July, Jeromy Miceli and Shannon Schreiner of Ridge Ave traveled to the Yucatan in Mexico. They explored several Mayan ruins including Ek Balam and Chichen-Itza.  Seen  here, Jeromy and Shannon are in front of Chichen-Itza, one of the most important examples of the Mayan-Toltec civilization in the Yucatán. Chichen-Itza is also a World Heritage Site. Next year, they plan to return to see Coba and other Mayan Ruins!

Emily Haimowitz (Coulter Street) is currently serving a 2 year stint with the Peace Corps in Costa Rica.  Emily is in the rural community service program, living in a town of 500 people in the northern lowlands of Costa Rica, not far from Volcano Arenal.  Her mother, Arlene Fisk, recently visited her and brought the only luggage necessary, a recent copy of The Fallser!  Here’s Emily standing by her town’s plaza and soccer field.  To follow Emily’s adventures, check her blog at http://emilypeacecorps.blogspot.com

Above are John & Katrina Kormanski of Midvale Ave. in front of St. Basil's Cathedral in the Red Square in Moscow. Professional Musicians, they were on a performing tour of Russia with the Hunterdon Festival Orchestra. They toured Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as Helsinki, Finland. John is the Band Director at Norwood Fontbonne Academy in Chestnut Hill, IHM in Andorra and Holy Cross School in East Mt. Airy. Katrina is a professional Cellist who performs all over the east coast.

Cathy McCoy and Peter Logan of Coulter Street visited Alaska in June, and, loyal readers of our local rag, took The Fallser with them! Seen here, Cathy and Peter are standing in the interior of Mt. Denali (McKinley). What looks like a cloud formation to the right of Peter’s head is Denali’s peak, at 20,300 feet!

Joyce Wilkerson of Midvale Avenue has returned from an extended vacation/expedition. She spent two weeks in Mongolia where she tracked Argali Mountain Sheep, mostly  with an Earthwatch Expedition in the Ikh Nart Nature Preserve, 300km from the capital, Ulaanbaatar.

Joyce also traveled to China, Vietnam, India and South Africa. She is seen above with Ghengis Khan, at a cultural performance in Ulaan Baatar.
